Heather James's Gallery 5
Timothy Tompkins, the New Media Manager for Heather James Fine Art (HJFA) galleries first contacted us two years ago to discuss the idea of having their entire 7 galleries recreated online.
Back then, the gallery creation process took a while, making the project too expensive, so HJFA decided to hire our Marble gallery, as it was similar in style and size to one of  their own.

Since then they have added an Atrium gallery for showing larger works and exhibitions.
Now, like the IaoHin Gallery in China, they have decided it is time to take their Gallery5's own unique atmosphere and style online, enabling their clients to attend it's exhibitions, no matter where they are.

EXHIBITION
& DESIGN

The virtual Gallery5 will change the way future Gallery5 exhibitions are designed.
Communication is key in the arts business and the ability to quickly scope exhibition ideas and share them with colleagues will take the collaborative design process to a completely new level.

The ability to design exhibitions in your own gallery and share those concepts privately with selected people will not only speed up the design process but result in a more refined exhibition.

Preview of shows:

The virtual replication of exhibitions hung in Gallery5 will allow HJFA to market them in quite a different way.
Two virtual Gallery5’s can be run concurrently, one duplicating the current show in the physical gallery, and the other used to create and market Previews of future shows.

Email invites to the physical opening could contain a link to the Preview, thus building awareness and anticipation.

IPAD and IPHONE on the way

Yes, we have just started the final phase of our OS mobile platform so all of you who have been asking us for it, will be very pleased. The first version will be the player app.
Imagine, being able to view your exhibitions on a mobile device. We think the immediacy and lightness of a tablet is  going to make this app a winner.

We may also be able to give you the ability to create exhibitions using a browser to preview and publish....... more on this in our next newsletter.

Thanks for reading our news,

Cheers until next time.

We are proud to announce the launch of our first custom made gallery in China, the IaoHin Gallery, Macau.

The IaoHin Gallery, set in the Heritage district of Macau will be the first gallery in China to take a virtual copy of their bricks and mortar gallery online.
Now any of the IaoHin gallery's website visitors can literally walk into the gallery, and have the pleasure of exploring the exhibitions held within, as if they where actually there.

Great care was taken to imbue the virtual gallery with the IaoHin gallery's own atmosphere and style.

Why?
The owner and founder Florence Lam, wants to really connect the virtual space with the physical by introducing visitors to the gallery from outside.

Set in the early evening, with the art clearly visible through the large front window, visitors will be gracefully transported from outside the gallery towards and through the opening front door, coming to rest positioned in front of the first artwork.

Design:
Design is a big gain from the project, enabling Florence and Simon, her partner to try many permutations when designing new exhibitions.

Reach:
Now, being at the IaoHin gallery can happen online as well, expanding not only the reach of each exhibition but adding the ability to tell a story, which is completely beyond the scope of a traditional website.

Embedding:
The IaoHin gallery will be embedded in a page on the website and will be managed from their exhibbit account.

Virtual galleries are much  like normal galleries and can show only one exhibition at a time. However unlike bricks & mortar galleries, the IaoHin virtual gallery can run many copies of the gallery each with a different exhibition.

Uses:
There are many ways the IaoHin gallery can use their newly created space.
Mirroring their current exhibition; showing previews of future shows and creating exhibitions from the gallery's stock are just a few of the uses.

I will be penning a follow up on the IaoHin gallery, about the launch of it's virtual space it's inaugural exhibition, and the affect the virtual gallery has on the IaoHin Gallery's online presence.

Their first exhibition date will be announced soon...so until then.

Cheers

Exhibbit, present and future

We are now out of our deep development stage and have been live with V4 since the 3rd March 2014.

The V4 development has seen some massive changes to exhibbit the product, as well as the company.
exhibbit is now fully Flash compatible which enables anyone to experience a 3d exhibition.
Many new features have been added that make the creation, viewing and managing a simple process.

We have had the inevitable bugs and fixed them all, made many tweaks an re-worked our code and delivery methods, and have produced a lighting fast download.

The improvements made to V4 combined with the speed increase, has led to a greater up take, so our client base is growing every month.

In the week coming up, we will be launching a first for 'exhibbit'.

A replica of a bricks & mortar gallery in China!

We will begin to feature our clients over the following months, showing you how they are using 'exhibbit' in their area of the Arts industry.

So watch this space if your interested to learn how this technology is beginning to change the art industry.

Cheers for now
